Circuits you can borrow, and a place to share yours

Privacy

The short version: no accounts, no cookies, no analytics, and nothing in the tool that phones home.

Last updated 27 October 2026

This policy covers conn3x.org, docs.conn3x.org and the Conn3x command-line tool. It doesn't cover GitHub, X or any other service we link to; they have their own.

The websites

conn3x.org and docs.conn3x.org are static pages. There are no accounts to sign up for, no forms, no comments, no cookies, and no analytics or tracking scripts, ours or anyone else's. Fonts, images, videos and scripts all come from our own domains; the sites' security policy doesn't allow any other source to load.

What the host sees

Both sites are served by Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare receives the details your browser sends with each request, such as your IP address, the page asked for and your browser's user agent, and uses them to deliver the page and protect the sites from abuse. We don't add any tracking on top, and we don't use those details to identify you. Cloudflare's handling is described in its privacy policy.

What your browser keeps

If you switch between the dark and light themes, your browser remembers the choice in its own local storage, under the key theme on conn3x.org andstarlight-theme on the docs. It never leaves your device, and clearing your site data removes it. Search on the docs runs entirely in your browser.

Links and share buttons

Links to GitHub, X and other sites, and the share buttons on blog posts, are plain links. Nothing is sent to those services until you click one, and then you're on their site, under their policy.

The Conn3x tool

Conn3x collects no telemetry and doesn't check for updates. It talks to the places your configuration points it at, and nowhere else:

  • your servers, over SSH;
  • the cloud APIs of the providers you use;
  • the provider and module registries you use, when conn3x init downloads them;
  • the state backend you configure.

Conn3x inherits OpenTofu's optional OpenTelemetry tracing. It's off unless you setOTEL_TRACES_EXPORTER, and then it sends traces to the collector you name, not to us.

GitHub and community

The code, issues, pull requests and Discussions live on GitHub. Anything you post there is public and handled under GitHub's privacy statement. Commits carry the name and email you sign them with, as every git project does.

If you email us

Messages to an address at conn3x.org reach the maintainers. We use what you send only to reply and to handle what you wrote about, and we don't add you to any list. Security reports follow the security policy.

Changes and questions

If anything here changes, this page changes with it, the date at the top moves, and the history is public in the website's repository. Questions about privacy go to legal@conn3x.org.
